Lauren Marie Aron

Director and Founder
Highly Specialist Psychotherapist

I am Lauren Marie Aron, and I am here to walk alongside you on your journey to recovery and well-being.

My passion lies in treating clients who struggle with a disordered relationship with food and body. In my work, I utilize a range of therapeutic methods, incorporating the principles of sound social work and integrating Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. Additionally, I have a strong interest in CBT-E (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Eating Disorders), which is an evidence-based approach specifically designed to address eating disorders.

Within the therapeutic space I create, my aim is to provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment where clients can openly share their current difficulties and tap into their inner strength. I believe in the power of collaboration and work together with my clients to develop practical strategies and coping skills to overcome challenges.

In addition to my expertise in CBT-E, I also integrate Transactional Analysis to explore how our interactions with others influence our experiences. Furthermore, I utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to address trauma and reprocess negative core beliefs that may impact one's life.

Life can be challenging, and seeking the support of a professional therapist can make a significant difference. Your well-being is my priority, and I am committed to providing you with the necessary tools to seize the day and navigate even the most traumatic circumstances.

If you are ready to embark on a transformative journey of healing and growth, I encourage you to reach out. Together, we can work towards your recovery and create a brighter future.

I have Masters Qualification in Mental Health Studies (IoPP) and completed Post Graduate Qualification in Healthcare Leadership (Darzi Fellowship).

My Approach

Society tends to condition us to think “what’s wrong with me,” but the key questions in our work together will be “what happened to me” and how can we make sense of that in terms of the difficulties that you are currently facing. My approach takes into account the unique life circumstances and needs of each of my clients. The initial focus of therapy is for us to develop a joint understanding of the difficulties you are experiencing as well as your strengths, all in the context of your life experiences, past and present.

Creating a safe, secure, and trusting therapeutic relationship is key as it allows for an understanding and change to the way we judge and perceive ourselves and others. My training has enabled me to gain comprehensive experience in different therapeutic modalities (CBT, CFT, EMDR, Systemic therapy) so we can see which approach (or approaches) resonates with you in order for us to affect change.

My aim is to help each of my clients to change their lives in a way that they want and desire, and for them to use these techniques and learning far beyond the last session so as to navigate the inevitable ups-and-downs of life.
